Renewed Strength (Day 5 of #encourage marathon)

image

Why do you say, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord, and my right is disregarded by my God”?

Have you not known?

Have you not heard?

The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.

He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.

Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles;

they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

~ Isaiah‬ ‭40:27-31‬ ‭ESV‬‬

It’s Day 5 of our 26-day #Encourage Marathon! (You can read yesterday’s post here.)

Someone out there is running low on strength. It might even be you.

There are times in our race when we feel like we’ve been running uphill in the burning heat for miles. Your muscles and lungs burn, your knees are skinned from falling and your heart begins to lose hope.

Then, you remember.

You remember that you can’t win this race on your own. You remember that your strength isn’t enough. You remember the promise of the Lord: “I will strengthen you.”

It is vital to commit the word to your mind and heart daily so when these times of exhaustion threaten to count you out, the promise of God will strengthen you. Satan wants nothing more than for us to despair and drop out. Don’t quit. Rely on the strength that comes from God.

Commit this passage to your memory for times of weariness and waiting. At some point in the race, you will experience both.

You may be waiting for something today. Maybe you feel as though God has forgotten you.

Doubt is easy. Trust is hard.

God promises to strengthen us. Keep running and praying—He will sustain you!

I hope you’ll continue to join me on Facebook, Twitter and here at Elihu’s Corner for this marathon. Share this verse on your Twitter feed or Facebook page (#encourage). Take time today to copy down this verse for yourself. Send an email or text to someone you know who would benefit from this encouragement.

  1. YESSSS!!! A personal reminder for me…God will not call me on a journey to let me run outta steam…He will renew me and keep me going as I press into Him and seek His face…one step at a time, God we got this-me and you-all the way to the end!

It takes the weight off my heart when I acknowledge the truth that God is the one carrying my load.

    1. Amen! It is a relief to know that He is helping us through everything. I believe that those faithful of times last figured this out, which is why they walked through fire, faced lions, and put mighty armies to flight. 😀
