A Prayer Request

IMG_3320

I often encourage prayer, and for good reason. The ability communicate with our Heavenly Father is a precious and powerful gift. The Lord is the Creator of all has the power to do something with my requests if it is His will.

I don’t normally ask for prayers from my readers, but today is the exception.

My seven-year old son is going in for surgery this morning, and I would be so grateful for your prayers on his behalf. He is having a tonsillectomy, and while I know that this is considered a “routine” surgery, it’s not without risk. This will be his first time under anesthesia, and apparently things can go wrong during recovery as well.

I believe the outcome is in God’s capable hands, and have taken my concerns to His throne many times. I expected to be worried, but the Lord has provided great peace.

Please pray for my son to be calm and brave. He is a strong little guy, but I think all of us feel some fear when facing the unknown.

Please pray for my daughters. I am so thankful for these girls. Over the past couple days they have been preparing him for this surgery. My oldest used her own money to purchase two toys for him to play with after his surgery. My middle child wrote an adventure story for him to read and drew a small poster and get well card. Pray for the Lord to provide them with peace and assurance.

Please pray for the surgeon and staff. This surgeon came highly recommended and he seems very capable to me. All the same, pray for him to have success and care, and for those assisting to also be focused and careful.

I thank God for you all in my prayers. I have made so many new friends through blogging and you encourage me so much. Thank you in advance for your prayers. I appreciate your patience as I try to keep up with my writing. I will have the final installment of our series on patience posted soon!

Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray.

Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.

Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

  1. There are no limits to God’s grace when it comes to answering prayer. Whether our requests are great or small, He is always there for us with an answer. When prayers concern our little ones, I think He opens His ears especially wide. We’re all His children and can approach Him as our heavenly Father with confidence. I will pray for your son, for you and your family and for the docs who will take care of him. The Lord be with you all.

  2. Prayers for your son and his surgery as well as a quick recovery. Prayers for your loving daughters who gave what they had, just as the widow did in the Bible. And especially prayers for the surgeon and his team. Finally, prayers for you for peace as you wait for the surgery to be over and for your child to be completely well.
