Add to Your Faith: March 2026 Scripture Writing Plan

In what or in whom does your faith rest?

It might be tempting to spit out the “right” or “expected” answer to the question, but consider your history for a moment. Circumstances strike–sometimes cruelly–and expose in whom or in what we truly put our faith. Prior to the Great Depression, far too many people put their faith in the stock market, the U.S. Dollar, and the credibility of banks. When that house of cards collapsed, so too did the morale of those people. The result was suicide, mental depression, and escapism. Systems continue to collapse today. Family may let you down, a local congregation might split, good works will always fall short. When those fail, does your faith also collapse?

God alone is a sure foundation for our faith. The Father loves us with unfailing love. The Son saves us from death. The Spirit guides and intercedes for us. In God alone is security and safety. It is on this solid bedrock our faith can stand through every storm of life.

In the book of 2 Peter, the Apostle Peter wrote, “His divine power has granted to us all things pertaining to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and excellence, by which He has granted to us His precious and very great promises so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world…” As we learned in 1 Peter, we are sealed and set apart for the Lord. In 2 Peter, we are reminded that we get to become “partakers of the divine nature.” The reason Peter encourages his fellow believers to grow in the faith is due in part to the prevalence of false teaching which was seeping into the church. In order to withstand its devastating effects, followers of Jesus must continually add to and grow their faith.

In Christ, there is a sure foundation, a sure hope, and a sure eternity. He has given us all we need for this life and the life to come.

If you stuck with us through the month of February for 1 Peter, I hope you’ll join us as we write through 2 Peter. Unlike last month, each day’s writing will be a bit shorter and we do have catch-up days. There is so much richness in these two books of scripture.
