It's been a year---a difficult, aggravating, mind-boggling year. As we enter the holidays, we are weary and wary. More of us will be facing empty chairs either because of loss or simply because we are isolated. I am praying for each of us to be surrounded with the steadiness and consistency of God's love as we enter the winter months. Let's take this final month of the year to fix our minds and hearts on Jesus. I can think of no better way to close this year and approach the next than to meditate on Jesus.

Faith Looks Up: Scripture Writing Plan November 2020
"Sorrow looks back, worry looks around, faith looks up." (Ralph Waldo Emerson) Because we live in this fallen world, we will have moments when we look back with sorrow and look around in worry. It's a natural reaction to the heartaches we face. When we first moved to West Texas, everyone was so friendly. Complete… Continue reading Faith Looks Up: Scripture Writing Plan November 2020
Witnesses to God’s Faithfulness: October 2020 Scripture Writing Plan
This month's scripture writingHebrews 11 is a star witness list. These individuals showed the impact of faith in a God who is Himself faithful. These witnesses weren't perfect people. In fact, the majority made some terrible mistakes in their lives. Their failures did not negate God's faithfulness, but magnified His mercy, faithfulness, and love even more powerfully.
Reasons to Rejoice: Scripture Writing Plan September 2020
You may not think we have a lot of reasons to rejoice in the mess that is 2020. However, if the writer of Philippians can write an entire letter of encouragement from a prison cell, can't we rejoice too? Don't you think our joy should be based on more than circumstances?
The Light of Truth: August 2020 Scripture Writing Plan
"What is truth?" These days, the truth is rather elusive, isn't it? We've got people shouting on all sides that they absolutely are telling the truth, but since they aren't saying the same thing, we've got to ask, "who is telling the truth?" Unfortunately, if you question someone's truth claim these days, (particularly regarding the… Continue reading The Light of Truth: August 2020 Scripture Writing Plan
Freedom in Christ: Scripture Writing Plan July 2020
This month's scripture writing will focus on aspects of freedom in Christ---how we are set free, freedom from "the Law of Sin and death," and freedom that demands responsibility.
Be Diligent: June 2020 Scripture Writing Plan
Webster's defines diligence as, "steady, earnest, and energetic effort : persevering application." Are we giving a "steady, earnest, and energetic effort" to serving the Lord? Do we steadily, earnestly, and energetically study His Word? Or, do we need to be more disciplined? Anyone who has trained for marathons or performed memorized solo work in music will tell you that it demands regular, disciplined effort. If our desire is to live in a way that pleases our Heavenly Father, this too demands diligence.
Kid’s Tracing & Copying Sheets for March Scripture Writing Plan
One of my lovely readers contacted me recently and offered to share some great resources for our littles to help them participate with us in scripture writing! It's not always easy for kids to "copy" directly from the Bible, particularly with so much text to look at! This talented mama made tracing sheets for all… Continue reading Kid’s Tracing & Copying Sheets for March Scripture Writing Plan
“Listen to Him” Scripture Writing Plan March 2020
In the history of the world, there has never been a teacher quite like Jesus. Even though He wasn’t handsome or charismatic, He spoke “as one having authority,” and His authority was supported by miracles and even the voice of God the Father. People throughout the centuries have attempted to deny His existence only to… Continue reading “Listen to Him” Scripture Writing Plan March 2020
How to Use Scripture Writing Plans
Since I've started publishing scripture writing plans, I've had a few questions about how these plans work. There really isn't a set method for scripture writing, but I would love to share both what I have done and what others have done to get more engagement with God's word. Scripture writing (a.k.a. copying scriptures) is… Continue reading How to Use Scripture Writing Plans
