Numbers is the fourth book in the Old Testament, in the section known as either the Pentateuch, The Torah, or The Books of Moses. The majority of scholars agree that it was written by Moses through inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Like Leviticus, there are passages which may seem dry or insignificant, and yet there is much to be learned in this section of the Bible. How do we read through it?

In Whom or in What do we Truly Trust?
Who or what is your “safe place”? Who or what gives you a sense of security? It’s easy to pay lip service to God while we place our trust in earthly supports.
Why Children Need Spiritual Instruction from Their Parents
We cannot expect our children to cling to their faith with conviction if they are only exposed to God for 3% of their life. Some will undoubtably cling to their faith because the Word of God is powerful whether we wield it or not, but if we neglect to teach our children, history (particularly biblical history) teaches us that only a remnant will remain. Parents, the job of spiritual instruction was never meant to rest squarely on the shoulders of the Bible class teachers.
Learning About Pre-Modern Bibles
During my college years, I was blessed to worship and work with an amazing group of Christians. Our preacher loved to learn and teach. Because of that congregation, I didn't just get a college education, I also received a very thorough Bible education! I asked our preacher for information about the origins of the Bible… Continue reading Learning About Pre-Modern Bibles

I'm not familiar with Moore's work, and I don't want to spend this post criticizing… Continue reading How do we Spend Time With God?

You are here… for such a time as this
As a young adolescent, I remember thinking that I had been born in the wrong era. I imagined that I would have fared well as a young adult during World War II, listening to big band music and supporting the war effort overseas. I remember as a teenager in the 90s feeling lost among the… Continue reading You are here… for such a time as this
