"But who knows what she spoke to the darkness, alone, in the bitter watches of the night, when all her life seemed shrinking, and the walls of her bower closing in about her, a hutch to trammel… Continue reading You’re Not As Alone as You Think
This is part 2 of the series "God's love is the Greatest Love." For the previous post, click here. One of the greatest tragedies for a young child is to grow up without a good father. For one thing, fathers provide protection, establish balance, and are often essential to a child's understanding of how men and… Continue reading The Love of our Heavenly Father
The Thanksgiving holiday fast approaches here in the United States. Thanksgiving recipes abound, turkeys are running for cover, and plans are being made in earnest for that fourth Thursday of November. I love the trend of the past few years of posting one thing to be thankful for each day in November, as it puts… Continue reading Recounting God’s gifts
There is a popular song that plays occasionally on the Christian radio station called "The Motions." I had to look up the lyrics because I could only remember the chorus (even after I looked them up, they made little sense to me). The situation is desperate. The men quake with fear but stand ready to fight. The stench of death surrounds them. Despair is palpable.
“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name! For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.”
There is nothing that can match the love of the Lord. We can compare it our relationships in order to gain greater understanding, but no love on earth is as faithful and true as the love of the Lord.
